Something is wrong here.
Something is wrong with you. The feeling permeates through the walls you've built, itching just below the surface of a bright smile, chilly sneer, or forced indifference. You have to keep everyone at a distance, in some shape or form; your dark secrets are sure to be your ruin.
Deep down, under all the lies and worldly worries, there is one question that you fear to answer the most: who are you?
Something is Wrong Here is a an uncanny RPG about connection and identity, and intentionally blurs the lines between reality and game. Inspired by the work of prolifict writer, director, and artist David Lynch, it takes players down a story of personality and all its dark undersides, as well as coping and coming to terms with what we might think of as the worst of ourselves. It is also an exercise in acting on the fly, involving various props to aid you on your journey of assuming your character's identity and interacting with other peoples'.
5-6 Players and one Facilitator will, as instructed, go through the deck of cards to better learn their roles and create a story driven by the characters' interactions with one another scene by scene. You'll need to bring:
- A mirror (floor-length works best)
- A box
- Character name tags
Drinks and costumes are optional, but add delightfully to the experience for dedicated players. Sessions are about 4 hours long and meant to be played all in one evening.
