In an effort to better understand the science behind domestication, two Russian scientists - Demitri Belyaev and Lyudmila Trut - bred foxes based on friendliness. With each generation of friendlier and friendlier foxes came the adorable physical traits we associate with domesticated dogs, such as curly tails and spots!

In The Fox Experiment, players replicate what these scientists started and their successors continue to this day by selecting foxes based on the traits you’d like your pups to carry on, tracking the traits you choose to pass on with tokens. Play lasts five rounds, at which point players count up the points they’ve earned through meeting goals and see who’s won!
